Overview

The commission consists of 5-7 members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. The members shall be residents of the City of La Mesa. Terms for each member expire once the Task Force’s task is complete and the Task Force is dissolved.

Responsibilities

The Task Force shall serve as an advisory body to the City Council on homelessness. Initial work will be educating members on current City practices regarding homelessness, some of the typical challenges the City faces, and what regional resources are available to the City. The Task Force will then create a plan to articulate the role of the City, other governmental agencies and non - profit organizations regarding homelessness and provide recommendations to the City Council.
