Overview
If you are looking to provide teen input for programs and services that pertain to your peers, the Youth Advisory Commission is for you. The commission consists of nine members and six alternate members appointed by the mayor with the approval of the City Council. Members shall be residents of the City of La Mesa and must be at least 13 years and not more than 20 years of age at the time of appointment.
Members are appointed for two-year terms and serve without compensation.
Responsibilities
The commission serves as an advisory body to the City Council on matters pertaining to programs, projects, and issues that address the concerns of youth in the community. It is the responsibility of the commission to explore and develop activities and issues that will promote positive youth relations in the City of La Mesa.
