LA MESA EARTH DAY FESTIVAL

La Mesa, CA...Get hands-on with fun Earth Day activities including composting workshops and interactive vendors. Receive resources and educational materials on recycling, energy efficiency, gardening, Safe Routes to School, and even check out some electric cars. Bring your bicycle and helmet and participate in the “Pedal for the Planet” trail ride funded through a GO by BIKE Mini-Grant from SANDAG as part of National Bike Month efforts to encourage biking as an everyday transportation choice. Relax in the park and enjoy delicious food from an organic food truck and cool Kona Shaved Ice.
A Kid’s Zone will have fun hands-on earth day science activities with take home projects, arts and crafts, bean bag toss and a bounce house. Children will also have an opportunity to win one of two 20” bicycles (with helmet).
These are just a few of the activities and topics that will be featured at La Mesa’s Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 27, 2019. This free event is presented by the La Mesa Park & Recreation Foundation and the City of La Mesa and takes place from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Harry Griffen Park, 9550 Milden Street in La Mesa.
