COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT CONSOLIDATED PLAN SURVEY AND WORKSHOP

La Mesa, CA...The City of La Mesa is seeking community input to help determine the goals and priorities for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan.

CDBG is a federal funding program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that provides resources for the City to invest in local communities through projects that primarily benefit low and moderate income residents.

The purpose of Consolidated Planning is to assess community needs and identify community goals and objectives over a five-year period. Those goals and objectives are used to establish program funding priorities. The Consolidated Plan describes the strategies the City will pursue to address priority needs and how progress will be measured. Consolidated Plans are submitted to HUD at the beginning of each five-year cycle, implemented through annual Action Plans, and assessed each year in a Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report, or CAPER.

To gather input, the City is hosting a community workshop and an online community needs survey. The workshop and survey are opportunities for the City to hear directly from residents and community groups about needs and priorities. The identified priorities will help shape the Consolidated Plan’s funding priorities for the next five years.

Community Workshop:
September 25, 2019, 6:00-7:30 pm
La Mesa Police Station – Community Room
8085 University Ave.
La Mesa, CA 91942
